A leucistic Red Fox killed in Denmark.
White foxes are well documented in Denmark with 66 sightings since the 1950’s. These foxes are considered valuable trophies by hunters, but in some regions hunters have made an agreement not to hunt them in order to preserve these unusual looking animals. This particular animal will be mounted and donated to a school for educational purposes.
Be honest - you knew it was endangered, so you wanted to kill it to satiate your own sick ego.
This animal is in no way endangered. It is simply a common red fox with a genetic deformity.
Leucism actually causes a number of health problems, including poor eyesight and hearing, skin sensitivity leading to a high risk of sun burn and skin cancer and skeletal deformities. Culling leucistic and albino animals benefits the population as it stops them passing on these faulty and harmful genes. There’s a reason leucism in wild animals is so rare; it causes so many issues they cannot survive very well.

This sweet girl was dropped off at my Dad’s work today, she is about 9months old based on her teeth and development. She will probably be a 35-40lb dog when fully grown and nourished. She has been very clearly abused, she’s covered in cuts and scrapes and a case of mange that needs to be treated. We cannot take her on, we have two dogs her size already and this house just can’t support her. She is a sweet dog who responds well to attention and just wants a little bit of love.
